Patient Story 01
01. Stroke - Cerebral Infarction

Patient’s Goal / Main Concern:

She wanted to participate in a marathon, but ankle instability made it difficult to run longer distances. Her goal was to improve her running form and stability.

Progress & Rehabilitation:

A lower-extremity rehabilitation program was implemented. We carefully addressed muscle tightness and performed targeted exercises to strengthen weakened muscles appropriately. After a total of 20 rehabilitation sessions, her ankle stability during running improved, allowing her to run 1 km continuously. She is currently continuing rehabilitation with the goal of completing a 5 km marathon.

02. Epidural Hematoma Following Traumatic Brain Injury

Patient’s Goal / Main Concern:

She was unable to walk long distances and relied on a powered wheelchair when going outdoors. Her goal was to transition away from using a powered wheelchair and travel overseas on foot.

Progress & Rehabilitation:

After completing a two-month rehabilitation program focused on walking, her walking form improved, allowing her to walk more efficiently and outdoors with a cane. That same year, she was able to fulfill her long-held dream of traveling abroad with her partner.

03. Putaminal Hemorrhage

Patient’s Goal / Main Concern:

She had difficulty supporting herself properly with her left leg while walking.

Progress & Rehabilitation:

We focused on exercises targeting the abdominal and pelvic muscles, which improved her ability to extend her left leg and provided greater stability and support during walking. We also incorporated balance training, stair training, and repeated practice of functional movements used in daily life. Through consistent practice, she gradually became better able to use and control her left leg during everyday movements.

04. Stroke - Cerebral Infarction

Patient’s Goal / Main Concern:

To be able to hold a fishing rod comfortably and without fatigue while enjoying his favorite hobby of fishing.

Progress & Rehabilitation:

An upper-limb rehabilitation program was provided, focusing on improving flexibility around the shoulder and reducing muscle stiffness. Grip-strength exercises were also incorporated to help the patient maintain a firm grip on the fishing rod for longer periods. The patient is now able to enjoy fishing at least once a month.

05. Spinocerebellar Degeneration

Patient’s Goal / Main Concern:

She had difficulty with daily activities at home because she was unable to stand up independently without holding onto a support.

Progress & Rehabilitation:

We provided an intensive lower-limb rehabilitation program. After the first session, her balance during sit-to-stand improved, allowing her to stand up independently. We then progressed to more advanced exercises, including single-leg standing and walking practice. As a result, she was able to walk independently at home. Because she has a progressive condition, she continues with long-term rehabilitation support to maintain and improve her physical function.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I get to your Office & Rehabilitation Area?
Our Office & Rehabilitation Area is located a 4-minute walk from JR Yoyogi Station and a 10-minute walk from JR Shinjuku Station-South Exit. If you plan to visit by car, please use nearby parking facilities, as we do not have private parking on site.
Can I receive rehabilitation even if it has been years since my condition began?
Yes, you can. Even years after a stroke or neurological condition, rehabilitation may help improve movement, daily activities, and overall function. We focus on your current condition, challenges, and goals—not simply how long ago your condition began. Our therapists provide a personalized rehabilitation program based on your needs and goals.
What medical documents do I need to bring?
Please bring a recent medical summary from your doctor, any MRI/CT scan results, and a list of current medications. This helps us design the safest and most effective program for you.
Can I use Japanese National Health Insurance for this program?
Our rehabilitation program is provided as a private service and is not covered by Japanese National Health Insurance.
Do you accept international health insurance?
We do not directly bill international insurance. However, we can provide all necessary medical receipts and reports for you to claim reimbursement from your provider.
